Ok maybe not the most dedicated exerciser

So I haven't done too much working out over the last couple of days... I could give you a million excuses like the fact that the power went out for all day and it was 11 degrees in the house.... or we have kids right now... but the truth is I just don't always want to... so instead I will give you some ideas for food stuff for your lazy days....

Idea #1
Breakfast- Kashi Go Lean Oatmeal + half an apple chopped up + 1 scoop vanilla whey powder + some Kashi Go Lean cereal.  Make sure that wait until after you cook the oatmeal to add the whey and the apples.  The apples will go soft and the whey turns to rubber.

Idea #2
Kashi Go Lean Pizza.... if you don't think that this is healthy:
Then you are incorrect.... here's the info on the mushroom trio pizza:
We’ve been busy again in our Kashi kitchen. Now, we are excited to introduce our All Natural Thin Crust Frozen Pizzas - a naturally nutritious and delicious addition to our frozen pizza family.

The pizza crust is made with our signature blend of Kashi Seven Whole Grains & Sesame with flax seed and is wood-fired to bring out the natural flavors. Our pizzas are topped with real, wholesome ingredients - things like roasted vegetables, unique mushrooms and tasty cheeses. We take great care in combining these ingredients with flavorful sauces like our Tomato Pesto and Tomato Parmesan.

Kashi All Natural Thin Crust Pizzas are a wholesome and convenient option. Four delicious varieties are available in the freezer aisle of your local grocery or natural food store.
Baby Portobello, Champignon and Shiitake mushrooms with spinach, mozzarella and provolone cheeses with a tomato parmesan sauce on a wood-fired, thin crust made with Kashi 7 Whole Grains & Sesame and flax seed.

Pity Party City

I suck at life... seriously... I was passed out on the couch and Joe woke me up to do a very high intensity workout that I had been dreading all day... so instead of sucking it up and being a grown up about it I reacted childishly... I threw the biggest hissy fit... :-(  seriously I think if I had fallen in the floor and flailed around like Silas I would have retained more dignity than I did today.... I did the exercises, but I feel bad for how I acted.  Joe could have left me asleep on the couch and done it without me, but he knows I have goals and loves me enough to push me towards them.... I appreciate him more than words can say for loving me and supporting me even when I act like a 2 year old... he makes me a better person in every way possible... he deserves better than cry-baby attitude from me.

In non-apologetic news:

Last week I did 185 push-ups
Today I did 220... :-D

Keep it Simple Stupid

So we tried to do Kempo X today, but there were too many arms and legs movements for me to keep up with.... I need simple straight forward exercises... so I quit... well I shouldn't say quit.... I stopped doing it and sat on the couch trying to control my tears because of how stupid I felt.... then Joe paused it and tried to express how to do it.... which didn't help.... and then we switched to doing our own workout.  It really irritates me that I can't grasp the combos on anything... can't dance... can't kempo.... etc etc..... oh well.... thank God we can always change it up some... :-)

In other news it's snowing!!  Which means that I get a day off work tomorrow... think I will be sleeping in.... :-D

Silas rockin' the Parkour

Silas saw us training today and decided he wanted to as well.... so I shot this sampler for him... :-D

Recipe for Healthy Crepes

Also- I thought I would share my recipe for healthy crepes!!  I altered this recipe from an unhealthy one today and it's DELICIOUS!!

1/2 C Egg Whites
1/2 C Soy Milk
1/2 C Water
1/2 TSP Salt
2 TBS Splenda
1 tsp vanilla
Blend together in blender
add slowly:
1/2 C Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
1/2 C Wheat Flour

When it's all blended together pour a tiny amount of batter onto a small pan and spread it out into a circle.  They should be VERY thin and burn quickly so pay close attention!!  Flip it when you can wait 5 seconds- remove from pan and start another.

When they're done you can put fresh fruit on them or do it like I did today and smother them in nutella!!

Enjoy!!

Konging the Couch...

So we have babies right now so when that happens it's hard for us to go out and exercise traditionally... thank God we have a couch.... I thought I would try Konging it today and I think I have the technique, just not the height... I totally whacked my foot against the couch.... it's bruising... :-P  Oh well... that's part of the learning process I suppose :-)  Also Silas (he's 2) saw us playing on the couch and decided he would too..... I grabbed my camera- get ready for the sic-est baby sampler EVER... :-D

My first actual training day...

So I went out and faced my fears today... and failed... I've decided that Parkour is first and foremost a mind-game... I mean I've spent the last 27- almost 28- years of my life being told that it is "safer" to go around an obstacle... NOT to go over it... I lost track of how many times I would run up to the bench I was trying to speed vault and then punk myself out.... ugh!!  I know it's a fear thing... I'm afraid I'm going to get hurt or look stupid.... I have got to get past the fear and just do it... but it's not as easy as I thought it would be... I guess I just expected myself to be better at it... but I keep telling myself it was the first day out and I need to just keep trying.... practice makes perfect right?

Hello DOMS

So today was Arms and Shoulders & then Abs and boy do all of them ache... along with every other muscle in my body really... Tony Horton is not my buddy.... no sir-ee bob.... I have a sneaking suspicion that I will wake up tomorrow and be unable to move my arms above my chest area... oi veh... :-)
The awesome news is that although my toe is still sore and bruised it appears that the bones have completed their fusion process and I may be able to go out and practice some Parkour tomorrow afternoon... I don't know how much running I can do, but I can do some stuff I'm sure... :-D  I'm super excited and can't wait to tell you all about it tomorrow!!

I'm exhausted...

Sadly this is not due to the hardcore workout that I did tonight... no... I don't know why I'm so tired... I just know that I came home from work ready for bed... and now it's 5 hours later (that's 7pm) and I'm going to sleep..... :-(  I feel like that is such a waste of my day and I totally just had some carbs so I feel like crap about it, but I'm so tired.... today was supposed to be cardio plyo day and for obvious reasons (see broken toe) I can't jump around... so instead  Joe and I did some slow lower leg strength training... turns out the Little Mermaid is the key to fitness... :-) Well goodnight sweet internet friends... tomorrow is another day...

P90X Insanely Reloaded- hurts....

I'm not entirely sure where my fingers are finding the strength to post this blog... I feel like every inch of my body has been tortured on a medieval rack... ugh... in other news I am able to do 95% of P90X Chest and Back and about 50% of Cardio Abs with my broken toe so despite my limitations I am still working at being better and stronger... I can already feel the sore creeping in and I'm sure by tomorrow I'll be wishing I was Alex Mack and could just slide up the stairs at my office and into my desk... wow... I really just aged myself...

Also- awesome news- we know people who have practiced freerunning in the past and are hopefully going to get together with them after Joe and I up our Parkour.... I've never really been a runner so I know that I need to cardio up hardcore if I want to be the best trauceuse I can be...

A video for my mom

For my mother who said "Is parkour like yoga?"  This is Parkour mama... :-)

So angry....

I broke my toe yesterday.... it was a stupid thing- trying to help out one of the kids and didn't look where I was going... it was an instantaneousness knowledge that it was broke... fire shot through my entire leg.... so today was the day we were SUPPOSED to start P90X insanely reloaded.... Joe thought maybe I could do the Yoga X part..... turns out I can't.... so for the most of it I just watched Joe and tried to do some easier yoga that I know that wouldn't mess me up.... I got to do the yoga abs and the warm up and cool down, but I still am frustrated.... I wish that I could have waited to break my toe.... I really want to get back into fitness...

And so we begin this journey...

Good Morning and Happy New Year!! So my fiance and I took some time through the Holiday Season and slacked off nutritionally, but we are back on track to get fit and healthy... we have a wedding to look amazing for this year so we've decided to take up Parkour... something fun to do together that keeps us in good shape. We're also doing P90X Inanely Reloaded and trying to stay very nutritionally balanced. I've created this blog to keep myself motivated and to share all of the craziness that we get into. I am really excited about being fit and fancy... can't wait... :-D
